Directions
We are easily accessible by car from the Major Deegan Expressway, Henry Hudson Parkway/Mosholu Parkway extension, Bronx River Parkway, Grand Concourse, and Broadway. The Mosholu Parkway station of the #4 Lexington Avenue IRT line and the West 238th Street station of the #1 Broadway IRT line are both within walking distance. The Bx #1, Bx #2, and Bx #10 buses all stop within a block of the Center, as does the BxM3 Express Bus to Manhattan. The IND D line is a short bus ride away.
Take the Henry Hudson Parkway North to the Mosholu Parkway exit. When approaching the traffic light on Mosholu Parkway bear right to Dickinson Avenue. Go one block on Dickenson Ave and make a right at the traffic light onto Sedgwick Ave. Get into the left lane. Go through the first traffic light, and at the second traffic light bear left to continue on Sedgwick Ave. The Center is on the left.
Take Major Deegan North to Van Cortlandt Park South. Bear left at the ramp in the exit, then turn left to go straight up the hill, Van Cortlandt Avenue West. At the second intersection (Food Dynasty Super Market on right hand side), make a right turn on Sedgwick Avenue. The Center is across the street.
Take the Henry Hudson Expressway North (toll road). Follow instructions for “From Riverdale”.
Take NYS Thruway South to Major Deegan South (I-87) to Van Cortlandt Park South. Turn left on to Van Cortlandt Park South and then continue at the light and go up the hill, Van Cortlandt Avenue West. At second intersection (Food Dynasty Super Market on right hand side), make a right turn on Sedgwick Avenue. The Center is across the street.
Take the Saw Mill River Parkway South to Mosholu Parkway (exit is on the left). Follow directions for “From Riverdale”.
The VCJC is wheelchair-accessible from Stevenson Place, which is located parallel to Sedgwick Avenue. Stevenson Place can be accessed either at the intersection of Sedgwick Avenue and Van Cortlandt Avenue West, or one block past the Sedgwick Avenue entrance. The Stevenson Place entrance provides direct access to the main floor of the synagogue which houses the Van Cortlandt branch of the Jewish Association for Services for the Aged (JASA), our main sanctuary, and our ballroom for special events.
