The Tragedy in Pittsburgh
The Van Cortlandt Jewish Center and its community mourn the tragic casualties and loss of life during the recent shooting at the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh. It is an act directed at the soul of the entire Jewish community and at all other communities that have been the targets of hate or discrimination. We share in the grief resulting from this and every senseless act of violence. We strongly denounce all words and deeds of hate.
As always, the VCJC will take appropriate security measures, acting in consultation with local law enforcement. We will maintain our scheduled services, programs, and activities, and will not allow such acts to deter us from continuing to serve our congregation and the community.
